We love to talk about The Playhouse! Sunset Playhouse has been educating, entertaining, and inspiring since 1960! We've learned a few things over the years and we want to pass them on to you. Explore our website for a deeper look into our history and community involvement.
Are students in Sunset Playhouse School for The Arts classes expected to have lots of theatre experience?
No, indeed. The Sunset Playhouse offers a wide variety of performing arts classes for all ages and all interest levels taught by the area's top professional teaching artists. Your only requirement is an openness to learning and having fun!
When are Sunset Playhouse School for The Arts classes held?
We have three class sessions throughout the year: fall, winter and summer sessions. We also offer special summer camps! We can also provide classes and workshops at your school, community group, or other off-site location throughout the year. Check out our summer 2013 School for the Arts brochure!
Where are your classes held?
All our classes take place at our beautiful theatre facility in the heart of Elm Grove at 800 Elm Grove Road (it's also proudly called "Honorary Sunset Playhouse Way," which we're tickled about). We provide a safe, fun environment for learning that is intended to give participants firsthand knowledge of the nuts and bolts of theatre arts and a foundation for a lifelong appreciation of the arts.
How do I register for classes?
You can register in several ways. You can download a registration form and mail or fax it back to us. You can email Education Director Erika Navin at email@example.com. You can call our business office at 262-782-4431. Finally, you can stop by The Playhouse anytime our box office is open.
Is there a class minimum?
Yes. In order to keep our class price at a minimum, we require at least six students be enrolled in a course. So tell your family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers about The Sunset!
What can my family expect from a Sunset Playhouse School for The Arts experience?Respect, cooperation and commitment are the foundations for the experience we cherish at The Sunset Playhouse. We nurture self-confidence, encourage collaboration, and value each student who participates in our programs as a unique individual. Did we also mention that we like to laugh? Because we do!
Anything else I should know?
The Sunset Playhouse School for The Arts also produces a winning Children's Theatre series called bug in a rug theatre, an interactive theatre experience for the whole family targeted for children ages 2-8, (younger siblings are welcome, too).
