Winter Session 2022

Sunset Playhouse School for the Arts is committed to giving our students the opportunity to learn and create.  The current health crisis is changing the way we educate and the way we experience the arts.  Sunset Playhouse is excited to offer our Winter 2022 In-Person Session of classes and performance opportunities.

UPDATED January 5, 2022

PLEASE NOTE:  Starting January 5, 2022 All students and staff, regardless of vaccine status, will be REQUIRED to wear a face mask during all classes, workshops, and rehearsals.  For our JR Musical Sessions, Sunset Playhouse will evaluate mask wearing for the live performances as we get closer to the date of performance.

Sunset Playhouse has created extensive pandemic guidelines for the safety of our patrons, performers, volunteers, students, and staff. Over the past two years, these have been routinely modified based on CDC recommendations, along with our desire to ensure the safety of everyone who visits or works in our building.
Given the current rapid spread of COVID due to the highly-contagious Omicron strain, we have decided it is time to adapt once again.

It’s always the season to be creative!  What a beautiful sight as students sled, build snowmen, and ice skate then hike, swing and garden.  Let’s use our imaginations and go on a variety of winter or spring excursions.  Each class is a new adventure for students as we have fun with dramatic play, story enactment, visual arts, music and movement. Think of it as a little bit of acting, a little bit of singing, a little bit of dancing and a whole lot of fun.  Adults come along for the fun in the 2 – 3-year-old class.

Enrolled in 1st – 3rd grade                   Tuesdays 4:30 – 5:30                          $90 (10 sessions)

Enrolled in 4th – 6th grade                   Tuesdays 5:45 – 6:45                          $90 (10 sessions)

This class introduces vocal technique, movement, and acting skills through some of Broadway’s most popular musicals. Working on material from the Great White Way will build the confidence and skill of young performers.  Students will put their singing, dancing, and acting skills together to present a Broadway-worthy performance for family and friends on the last day of class.  Explore the magic of musical theater!
