As Sunset continues to grow and evolve, we are seeking an organized, proactive, and collaborative Executive Assistant to support both the Executive Managing Director and the Artistic Director. This role requires strong administrative skills and communication management.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, technologically proficient, and excited to contribute to a creative and mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, track follow-up items
- Draft, edit, and organize correspondence, presentations, and other documents
- Assist with payroll
- Prep and organize contracts, maintaining communication and following up with contractors
- Maintain vendor profiles including tax forms, personal information, and payments
- Maintain confidential files and records
- Create, organize, and maintain spreadsheets, reports, and databases, including financial documents and reports
- Assist with compiling information for board meetings, fundraising efforts, and sponsorship programs
- Enter and pay bills, following up with vendors when necessary
- Assist with follow-up communications and outreach as directed
- Update the website, including show dates and information
- Create Marla Eichmann Studio Theater rental contracts and follow up as needed
- Maintain/organize the archive room and financial documents
Qualifications
- Previous experience in administrative support, executive assistance, office management, arts administration, or a related field preferred
- Strong proficiency in:
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Word
- Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Calendar)
- CRM Software (Patron Manager preferred)
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines
- Discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information
- Ability to work independently
Schedule: 10-15 hours per week (flexible schedule)
Compensation: $18/hour

We are currently accepting resumes for a Stage Manager for our 2026-27 production of LEND ME A TENOR. Performances are September 10-27, 2026. A stipend is paid for this position and prior Stage Management experience is required. Note: Sunset is a Community Theater in Elm Grove, WI. We do not provide housing.
We are also accepting resumes for 2026-27 Assistant Stage Manager positions. We will train an Assistant Stage Manager. A stipend is paid for this position.
These positions could also be used as an internship for college credit.
Stage Managers attend rehearsals, taking blocking notes for director, maintain the calendar, supervise the cast, assist with props and scene changes if needed, and other duties as assigned. The Stage Manager is expected to attend all performances and is fully in charge of the production during performances.
Assistant Stage Managers attend rehearsals once per week during the rehearsal period and nightly starting with Tech week through all performances. A small stipend is available. This position could be used as an internship for a college student if the college attended offers such an opportunity and is an excellent learning opportunity for a theater student or someone interested in the arts/stage management.

Box Office / Front of House Representatives
Sunset Playhouse seeks part-time Box Office and/or Front of House Representatives for our vibrant theater located in Elm Grove, WI. The ideal candidate will be hired and trained as a Box Office Representative or a Front of House Representative or both. We are very flexible and hours will be approximately 5-20 per week based on Sunset performance schedule and your availability. Previous theater experience is not a prerequisite for this position.
In the role of Box Office Representative, you will be the primary contact for Sunset’s patrons. As the Front of House Representative, you will be Sunset’s link to our patrons and volunteers.
Responsibilities as a Box Office Representative include:
- Act as the main customer service representative for the Ticket Office.
- Process telephone, mail, and walk up ticket orders.
- Assist and respond to patrons with information about our theater.
Responsibilities as a Front of House Representative include:
- Interact with patrons and volunteers and maintain audience safety and comfort.
- Ensure the bar and concession areas are fully-stocked.
- Make end of night deposit.
Preferred Qualifications for Box Office / Front of House Representative:
- Ticket Office and/or sales experience preferred
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills preferred
- Computer, data entry, basic math skills, and cash handling and reconciliation experience preferred
- Reliable and prompt
- Theater experience not required, but a love of the arts preferred
Starting compensation: $13.00 per hour

We are accepting resumes for future Props Designers. A stipend is paid for this position. The ability to design and/or locate props for our Furlan plays and musicals, as well as lead the run crew during the performances is required. Note: This is a part-time position on a per-production basis. It is not a permanent, full-time job.
The Props Designer is expected to attend all performances of the show hired for and is fully in charge of the props during performances.

Sunset Playhouse is accepting resumes for future openings for part-time SOUND DESIGNERS/SOUND ENGINEERS
Prior experience programming sound cues and microphones is required. Sound Designer is responsible for programming cues into the sound board, setting up body and hand-held mics, speakers, and monitors as needed, working with performers, and operating the sound board during the production.
Your duties as SOUND DESIGNER/SOUND ENGINEER include:
- Meeting with the production’s director to determine sound requirements
- Being available for production meetings on a mutually agreeable dates if needed
- Attending tech week
- Programming body or hand-held mics, practical sound cues, setting sound levels, and performing any necessary sound adjustments during the run of the show. SCS software
- Running Sound for the selected production for all performances of the musical or securing and training additional sound operators, if needed
- In case of emergency or illness, finding a substitute sound operator
Stipend will be based on previous experience and the time commitment required for selected production
Note: Sound Designers are employed on a per show, part-time basis and paid via stipend. We do not provide housing or transportation.

Sunset Playhouse School for the Arts offers a wide variety of performing arts classes for all ages and all interest levels taught by the area’s top professional teaching artists.
We are always seeking experienced, energetic, skilled, theater teachers to join our organization so that they can be a positive influence in the lives of children ages 2 – 15. These are part-time, flexible positions.
Seeking teachers with experience in: acting, improvisation, musical theater, preschool theater, play writing, etc.
Experience with directing and/or teaching students of is required. Teachers must have great initiative and organizational skills, as well as experience in creating and managing curriculum.
Compensation: $20-$25 per hour based on experience
