Imaginations will soar as students explore the wacky characters and vibrant language of Dr. Seuss. Students will use theater games and exercises to explore the basics of acting while learning ensemble-building skills and gaining self-confidence. Each day we’ll go on a grand adventure using Dr. Seuss’s books as a springboard and expand our ability to tell a story using the tools of every actor: our voice, body, and imagination. Students will perform a play for family and friends on the last day of class.
Stage it! Comedy (4th - 6th grade)
Enrolled in 4th – 6th grade Mondays 5:45 – 6:45 $90
Create your own play from your imagination and add a good dose of humor! Students will explore the basics of acting – warm ups, stage directions, voice, movement, and improvisations while learning ensemble-building skills and gaining self-confidence. Theater games, improvisation, and a variety of writing exercises will allow students to also explore the role of the writer in theater. Students will then apply these skills to perform an original play on the last day of class.
