SIDENOTES CABARET FEATURES BOBBY DARIN TRIBUTE FOR MOTHER’S DAY
A tribute to the internationally renowned BOBBY DARIN will be presented in the SideNotes Cabaret, May 11-14, 2023. Titled IRRESISTIBLE: THE MUSIC OF BOBBY DARIN, the program features the talents of celebrated singer/actor STEVEN KOEHLER. The SideNotes Cabaret is located in the Marla Eichmann Studio Theater of Sunset Playhouse in Elm Grove, Wisconsin.
Best known as “Lloyd” from GUYS ON ICE — a role he has perfected in more than 1000 appearances, including for the Milwaukee Rep and Wisconsin Public Television — Koehler has been performing in and around Wisconsin since graduating from UW-Milwaukee’s Professional Theatre Training Program. Other stage credits include THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY (Robert Kincaid) with Peninsula Players, TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD (Atticus) with Children’s Theater of Madison, PUMP BOYS AND DINETTES (Jackson) with Fireside Dinner Theatre, and THE SOUND OF MUSIC (Georg Von Trapp) with Skylight Music Theatre. When not performing, Steve teaches physics and theater at Pathways High in Milwaukee as well as on-camera acting at UW-Milwaukee.
Koehler will be backed by an outstanding six-piece band that includes SAM STEFFKE (arranger/piano) JEFF LaBARGE (arranger/saxophone), JOHN ROSE (trumpet), DAVE SMITH (trombone), HAL MILLER (bass), and JIM RYAN (drums). The show is written and directed by PEGGY PETERSON RYAN and co-directed by BETH BURROUGHS.
Performances of IRRESISTIBLE: THE MUSIC OF BOBBY DARIN are Thursday through Saturday, MAY 11-13 at 7:30 PM and Sunday, May 14, at 2:00 PM.
