The Many Disguises of Robin Hood

Auditions are available for students in grades 7 – 12.

ALL STUDENTS interested in being cast in The Many Disguises of Robin Hood must audition.  Actors must be available for ALL tech rehearsals and performances to be cast.

Tuition of $275 will be paid upon the acceptance of a role – There is NO FEE to audition.

Audition Date:

Thursday, September 4

6:00 – 9:00 pm

Actors are asked to stay for the whole audition time.

Rehearsals:

September 10 – October 30

Wednesdays & Thursdays @ 6:15 – 8:15

Sundays @ 1:00 – 4:00

No Conflicts begin October 19

Tech/Dress Rehearsals (no conflicts allowed):

November 2 @ 1:00 – 5:00

What to do:

• Register for the audition using this LINK.

• There is no need to prepare anything before the audition.  Auditionees will be reading from the script in groups.

SYNOPSIS:  In merry ol’ England, the townspeople are overtaxed and overwhelmed. Luckily, the mysterious outlaw Robin Hood is giving them hope by stealing from the rich and giving to the poor. With many clever disguises, Robin continually tricks the greedy sheriff of Nottingham, his nasty daughter, Luciana, and the evil Prince John. Among the disguises is a minstrel costume to steal Prince John’s silver plates and excellent cook. Robin also dresses as an old man and enters the archery contest to win the golden arrow. When a young girl from Nottingham joins Robin’s band of outlaws, she discovers Robin’s secret: Robin Hood is actually a woman. Eventually, Robin needs her merry band of outlaws and her childhood friend, the brave Maid Marian, to use all of their quarterstaffs, swords, arrows and wits to save her from the gallows.  Students will have the opportunity to work with a certified fight choreographer.

ANNIE KIDS

There are two separate casts for ANNIE KIDS.  You can register for the SUN cast or the TOMORROW cast.  Please note dates/times differences and register for the cast that best fits your family’s schedule.

Sunset School for the Arts is producing ANNIE KIDS.  Join us for this opportunity to perform on our Sunset Playhouse Marla Eichmann Studio Theater stage.  This exciting program will give students the experience of going through an entire rehearsal and performance process.  Participants will learn theater skills as they move through the magical process of producing a musical. All Students who register are cast in the production.

SYNOPSIS:

Based on the popular comic strip and adapted from the Tony Award-winning Best Musical, with a beloved book and score by Tony Award winners, Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin, Annie JR. features everyone’s favorite little redhead in her very first adventure.

With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone’s hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. Annie is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of an orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. Annie eventually foils Miss Hannigan’s evil machinations, finding a new home and family in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy.

BEETLEJUICE JR

Sunset School for the Arts is producing BEETLEJUICE JR.  Join us for this opportunity to perform on our Marla Eichmann Studio Theater stage.  This exciting program will give students the experience of going through an entire rehearsal and performance process.  Participants will learn theater skills as they move through the magical process of producing a musical.

All Students who register are cast in the production.  All Students must be available to participate in both the Unusual Cast AND Strange Cast tech/performance dates.  Casts will be determined based on auditions.  The first two days of the session will be auditions (audition information will be emailed after session registration). Students will be cast in either the Strange Cast or the Unusual Cast.  Both casts will rehearse together.  However, each cast has their own specific tech/dress and performance week.
