Keyboardist/vocalist CONNIE GRAUER and percussionist KIM ZICK recorded their first album in Nashville, where they hung out with folks like k.d. lang and the Indigo Girls. Since returning to the area, this dynamic jazz-funk duo has won dozens of awards and accolades, including “best jazz act.”
Kim Zick and Connie Grauer are from Waukesha, Wisconsin, home town of Les Paul. They attended the same high school, but rarely spoke to each other; not much in common or so they thought. Years later Kim forms a band and needs a keyboard player. Remembering a great musician from high school, she calls Connie and the rest is history.
Complex, sophisticated, and adventurous, their music is a unique blend of off-center jazz, ultra-funk, spoken word, and their own brand of neo-cabaret. Sunset is very honored to host MRS. FUN as part of our SideNotes Cabaret Series. This will be an evening you won’t soon forget.
