Beth Burrows who is currently playing Joseph’s mother in JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT which runs through August 3, 2025, now in the Sunset Spotlight.
When did you first become involved at Sunset Playhouse and what areas have you been involved with here at the
Playhouse?
My first experience with Sunset was as an audience member in the 1980’s and then on stage in December 2000 where
I performed in NUNCRACKERS. From there I took a break for 21 years to live and work overseas where I created
charitable theatre guilds within each of the schools I taught at, producing over 20 shows.. Upon returning to the US, I
was excited to rekindle my relationship with Sunset and auditioned for Elf The Musical where I played Deb. I was
thrilled to be asked to collaborate with Peggy Peterson Ryan (what a gem!) on the SideNotes Cabarets which has been
a rewarding opportunity. I have loved working with the team and the ultra talented musicians. I also was privileged to
work as Assistant Director on THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER, THE MUSICAL with the incomparable Karl Miller.
If you are working on a Sunset show right now, what is your role?
I am currently performing in JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT where I play Joseph’s Mom along with a
host of other characters.
If an actor, what has been your favorite role to date and what is your dream role? If a Production Team member,
which show have you most enjoyed working on? What show would you like to do in the future?
As an actor here at Sunset, I loved playing the office lush Margaret in 9 TO 5! Atta Girl! My all time favorite role was
Miss Hannigan in ANNIE! Rotten Orphans! My dream role would be Mrs. Potts in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. As a director, I
would love to direct COME FROM AWAY or ONCE.
What do you enjoy most about the Sunset?
Sunset is family. Spending time with and building relationships with others while creating magical moments on stage
is what I truly enjoy most.
When not at Sunset, how do you spend your time?
When not at Sunset, I spend my days as a special education teacher in Franklin and love being a mom to Benjamin, my
incredible son.
What is your favorite color/food/movie/TV show/book/musical or play?
Currently my favorite TV show is Taskmaster from the UK. I’m obsessed and can’t get enough of the tomfoolery, clever
tasks and hilarious cast members!
What is your favorite quote?
“Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life’s coming attractions.” -Albert Einstein
Any other comments?
I want to thank everybody at Sunset for welcoming me into your family, it truly feels like I have spent my whole life
within these creative walls
