Merry Jaeger

Merry Jaeger, who is currently the Stage Manager for THE GAMES AFOOT: HOLMES FOR THE HOLIDAYS and has stage managed many other Sunset shows, now in the Sunset Spotlight.

  1. When did you first become involved at Sunset Playhouse and what areas have you been involved with here at the Playhouse?

My first experience at Sunset was volunteering as an usher as a teenager, {hmmm} years ago.  I returned to Sunset in 2008 and volunteered in most all production capacities (and one very brief, non-speaking appearance on stage).   My interest currently is Stage Management and I’ve been fortunate to been involved in many productions both at Sunset and at SummerStage of Delafield.

  1. If you are working on a Sunset show right now, what is your role?

I am Stage Manager for THE GAME’S AFOOT OR HOLMES FOR THE HOLIDAYS

  1. If an actor, what has been your favorite role to date and what is your dream role? If a Production Team member, which show have you most enjoyed working on? What show would you like to do in the future?

It’s hard to choose – they’ve all been great fun and favorites can change over time, so right now my favorite is THE GAME’S AFOOT.   I have a wide range of interest, so no specific dream production – lots of different genres appeal to me.

  1. What do you enjoy most about the Sunset?

I enjoy the talents, creativity and the comradery of the volunteers and staff involved with Sunset Productions.   The support system is great and the process is collaborative.    The skills and talents of both the cast and the production teams are amazing.

  1. When not at Sunset, how do you spend your time?

I am very involved as a volunteer at the Humane Animal Welfare Society (HAWS) in various capacities, but primarily working as a volunteer in the Behavior Department.  It’s a very involving and emotional opportunity from which I continue to learn new skills and contribute to positive outcomes for the animals.

Also as stated above, I enjoy the summers at SummerStage of Delafield.

When not at the theater or HAWS, I tend to be a homebody with my wonderful husband, Scott and our four-legged “kids”, Jake and Ella.

  1. What is your favorite color/food/movie/TV show/book/musical or play?

Red (appropriate for the Holidays and for THE GAME’S AFOOT!!)

Good coffee and good red wine (not at the same time)

Again, hard to choose, but during the holidays, THE BISHOPS WIFE

Modern Family

The Chief Inspector Gamache Series, by Louise Penny

Too many to choose just one!

  1. What is your favorite quote?

“It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.”  Mark Twain

  1. Any other comments?

Come see THE GAME’S AFOOT!!     Lots of fun and not to be missed!!
