PAM SECCOMBE

Pam Seccombe who is currently stage managing THE ODD COUPLE with remaining performances January 23-February 2, 2025, now in the Sunset Spotlight.

  1. When did you first become involved at Sunset Playhouse and what areas have you been involved with here at the Playhouse?

My first show at Sunset Playhouse was MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET.  I was the Stage Manager for that show and have stage managed quite a few shows since then.  It’s a fun job to have because I get to work with the actors, the people who create the set, props, costumes, lighting and, of course, the Director.

  1. If you are working on a Sunset show right now, what is your role?

I am stage managing THE ODD COUPLE.

  1. If an actor, what has been your favorite role to date and what is your dream role? If a Production Team member, which show have you most enjoyed working on?  What show would you like to do in the future?

It’s a hard question to answer because I have done a lot of different plays.  WAIT UNTIL DARK was a real challenge because I had to call some of the lighting cues in complete darkness.  BLITHE SPIRIT was exciting because of all the special effects in the show.  And who could not love THE ODD COUPLE.  Picking a favorite is like picking your favorite child–when you choose one the others get left out!

  1. What do you enjoy most about the Sunset?

I enjoy the wonderful people and the incredible stories we get to tell.  Everyone here is committed to making theatre and their enthusiasm is infectious.  I always look forward to being here because it is such a positive environment.  I’m also impressed with the programs Sunset has created to encourage young actors.

  1. When not at Sunset, how do you spend your time?

Traveling is my passion–along with theatre, of course.  I love medieval and art history so most of my trips are planned around visits to castles, cathedrals and old towns and villages.  I started working on my English family tree a few years ago and that’s lead to some surprising discoveries in the archives there.

  1. What is your favorite color/food/movie/TV show/book/musical or play?

My philosophy is “if it’s food it’s good” and my favorite color is blue.  I ‘m always reading mysteries and historical fiction.  Masterpiece Theatre is my favorite TV viewing and mostly I like English films.  My favorite play at the moment is THE MOTIVE AND THE CUE, a play about Richard Burton doing a production of Hamlet.

  1. What is your favorite quote?

A medieval history professor of mine always say “There’s nothing new since the 15th century.”  And you know, she’s right!

  1. Any other comments?

I hope you enjoyed our production of THE ODD COUPLE and come back to see another show at Sunset Playhouse very soon
