- Zach Rolf who is playing Buddy the Elf in our holiday production of ELF ON STAGE now in the Sunset Spotlight
- When did you first become involved at Sunset Playhouse and what areas have you been involved with here at the Playhouse?
- The first Sunset Show I was cast in was CABARET in the spring of 2020, but the production was short lived due to COVID. Two years later, I made my Sunset debut as Nigel Bottom in SOMETHING ROTTEN.
- If you are working on a Sunset show right now, what is your role?
- I am currently portraying Buddy the Elf in ELF THE MUSICAL.
- If an actor, what has been your favorite role to date and what is your dream role? If a Production Team member, which show have you most enjoyed working on? What show would you like to do in the future?
- My favorite role has been Leaf Coneybear in THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE. My dream role is Sweeney Todd, which always seems to surprise people. In the future I would love to be able to tap into directing, and my dream show to direct is JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR.
- What do you enjoy most about the Sunset?
- I really love how every time I’ve been a part of a Sunset show, the casts and crews make you feel so welcome. Sunset is a great place to find talented people who treat you so kindly.
- When not at Sunset, how do you spend your time?
- At home, I like to spend time playing my ukulele and writing songs and scripts. I also love spending time with my friends and loved ones every chance I get.
- What is your favorite color/food/movie/TV show/book/musical or play?
- My favorite color is purple. For food, I can never go wrong with a good steak. My favorite movie is AMADEUS. THE MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL is a show that I put on anytime I need a laugh. I don’t have a favorite book, but one I read recently that I highly recommend is WOMEN TALKING by Miriam Toews. My favorite musical will have to go to INTO THE WOODS, and my favorite play is RUMORS by Neil Simon.
- What is your favorite quote?
- “Surround yourself with people whose eyes light up when they see you coming.” – André De Shields
