How did you first start volunteering at Sunset?
This is my first show with Sunset! I did a Google search for “Milwaukee community theater,” auditioned for All Shook Up, and here I am! It has also been very rewarding being dance captain for this show; this is my first time in this role, and I’ve enjoyed the opportunity to work with cast members individually or in small groups to help everyone feel confident with their movement on stage.

When you’re not at Sunset, what do you like to do?
I love checking out coffee shops around Milwaukee- the coffee shop scene in the city is so good! Integrating music and art into my everyday life is also important to me; journaling, singing, and taking time to admire nature give me life.
What’s your favorite part about theater?
The community aspect of theater is probably what keeps bringing me back to it, but I also love the way theater allows someone to tell another’s story so personally, and to then extend that to another person in the audience. From an actor’s perspective, I deeply appreciate the opportunity to be stretched to learn how to “be” another person for a couple of hours on stage- to consider how to tell their story most authentically and, in doing so, cultivate empathy for their experience.
