How did you first start volunteering at Sunset?
I started volunteering at Sunset in 2015 when a cast member in Thoroughly Modern Millie became ill and needed to drop out of the show about a week before opening, she mentioned my name as someone that could play the part so they contacted me and I flew home from vacation to cram the choreography and music. It was a whirlwind but everyone was so wonderful and welcoming I knew this would be a place I wanted to come back to.
Do you have a funny Sunset story?
A funny sunset story: My daughter Ella is our Asst. Director for Nuncrackers. During our final dress our darling costumer came over and said “wait, Ella is your daughter? I had no idea”. It was cute and re-enforced the fact that I think we don’t look much alike.
When you’re not at Sunset, what do you like to do?
When I am not at Sunset or at work at Children’s I love spending time with my kids and the two cutest black cats in town, Dexter & Wednesday.
What’s your favorite part about theater?
My favorite part about theater is being able to leave everything at the door. When I walk in, anything that’s been bothering me melts away and I am surrounded by amazing, talented friends while we get to entertain people. Nothing feels better than singing your face off on stage!
