Sunset could not be more thrilled to point the spotlight on a new volunteer!
How did you first start volunteering at Sunset?
This is actually my first experience volunteering with Sunset! I was lucky enough to see the audition notice on social media and managed to land a spot in the show. During rehearsals, I was also able to use my prior stage combat training to help with some of the choreography. It’s been almost a decade since I performed and I’m so happy that my first time back on stage will be here at Sunset!
Do you have a funny Sunset story?
My favorite story at Sunset so far has been during the rehearsal process for this show. I was playing with various ways for the Inspector to behave toward the rest of the ensemble and decided to try it where he was so friendly and trusted everything everyone told him (maybe not great qualities in an Inspector?!). It led to some of the silliest and most outrageous takes on an Agatha Christie work and we all had a good laugh afterward!
When you’re not at Sunset, what do you like to do?
I definitely enjoy spending time with my wife and two kids. We are a big board game family and try to have game night at least once a week! Recently we have gotten into cooperative board games which is really fun to see how we can work together to solve challenges. If I have alone time, I’m a video game player and enjoy zoning out in some kind of fantasy world.
What’s your favorite part about theater?
I love the collaborative nature of theatre. I find immense joy in joining forces with my fellow artists, exchanging ideas, discovering moments, and bringing a production to life. The shared energy, collective problem-solving, and opportunity to learn from one another makes the nature of theatre magical. With so many diverse, creative, and wonderful people working on a production, it is something truly special!
