Josh Scheibe – Wait Until Dark

How did you first start volunteering at Sunset?

My first role at Sunset was Marley in A CHRISTMAS CAROL back in 2015. It was one of the first shows I acted in after graduating from college, and was also one of the first where I felt like I was starting to come into my own as an actor.

Do you have a funny backstage story?

Too many to count! If you want something specific, let’s just say that pretty much every backstage conversation with the cast of RUN FOR YOUR WIFE had me giggling.

When you’re not at Sunset, what do you like to do?

I love to watch movies and plays, as well as read and write.

What’s your favorite part about theater?

The vain part of me says it’s the applause and the laughter, and that certainly is a part of it; ultimately, though, I just love good storytelling. Theatre lets everyone in the room participate in the telling of a story in a way that other forms of entertainment don’t. If the last year and change has shown anything, it’s that communal experiences are incredibly important to our well-being and to our understanding of each other, and theatre provides a wonderful environment for that.
