How did you first start volunteering at Sunset?
I first started volunteering at Sunset when I was cast in Elf the musical in 2022. That was after a 3 year break from theater. It felt good to bring that part of my life back, and I have returned for 3 shows since then!
Do you have a funny Sunset story?
It’s a little embarrassing, so I will preface this with saying I am a natural klutz. When in tech for Elf, I missed a stair or two and fell off the stairs going to get my water bottle. To this day, my friends always say, “Do you remember the time you fell off the stage?” I now have PTSD every time I go down the stairs.
When you’re not at Sunset, what do you like to do?
When not at Sunset, I like to spend my free time with my family and friends. I also like spending time outside; hiking, biking, kayaking, disc golfing are all my go to activities. I really enjoy hockey and am a huge Milwaukee Admirals and Vegas Knights fan. Vacationing is always high on the list of things to do as well.
What’s your favorite part about theater?
My favorite part about theater is that it is the one time life stands still for me. I am able to forget and disconnect from everything that has happened or is happening around me. It allows me to hit the reset button and refocus. My favorite part about Sunset specifically though, is the community it has created for me. I have made a new group of friends and my best friends have come from Sunset.
