Sunset could not be more thrilled to point the spotlight on a new volunteer!
How did you first start volunteering at Sunset?
I first started volunteering at Sunset back in 2012 when I was cast in Six Degrees of Separation. More recently (over the past two seasons) I have volunteered as an actor and an usher.
Do you have a funny Sunset story?
There are so many great Sunset memories. I’ve met lots of funny people, that’s for sure. This one time, I was playing a dead body on stage (hilarious) and I somehow missed my cue. I think there’s a punchline in there somewhere.
When you’re not at Sunset, what do you like to do?
When I’m not at Sunset, my time is filled with working at Milwaukee City Hall and also House Managing at the Broadway Theatre Center. If I actually have some time away from work and play rehearsal, I enjoy cooking (eating), reading, walking, and travelling with my wife, Amanda.
What’s your favorite part about theater?
My favorite part about Theater is the sense of community and teamwork that is involved in telling a story. My favorite thing about acting, in particular, is stepping into the life of another person. This may be a person that I don’t agree with personally, but I must now make choices that rationalize this character’s decision making. I think, ultimately, it’s a great exercise in empathy.
THANK YOU ON BEHALF OF SUNSET PLAYHOUSE AND OUR PATRONS!
