How did you first start volunteering at Sunset?
This is my first time performing with Sunset and I’m having a great time! I’m impressed with the great community and fanbase that Sunset has, which is so important for a theater to survive in the modern era. Thanks for having me and I hope to be back again!
Do you have a funny Sunset story?
I’m “just a baby, a little baby” at Sunset Playhouse, but we’ve been laughing and having fun throughout the Howard Johnson’s process. Without spoiling anything, let’s just say Jim and I get ourselves tangled up in the rope and it leads to some fun improvisations from time to time!
When you’re not at Sunset, what do you like to do?
My wife and I have a 5-year old boy and 3-year old girl that keep us quite busy! We enjoy many family walks and family movie nights when I’m not on stage.
What’s your favorite part about theater?
I love the variety of roles I have gotten to play over the years and enjoy the opportunity to roll up my sleeves and dive into rehearsals for a play or musical – solving problems, telling the story, and having fun as a team, which is so crucial to this art form. Naturally, all that time in the rehearsal room creates a great sense of community that has to be so strong as we support each other on stage. Then, just like that, the show closes and it’s so bittersweet. I soothe myself by reading the next play!
