Sarah Brown- All Shook Up

How did you first start volunteering at Sunset?

My first show at Sunset was Anything Goes in 2016! I was just finishing high school and was cast as one of the Angels. I had an amazing time in that show, and I keep coming back for more!

Do you have a funny Sunset Story?

I love the silly jokes that can develop throughout the run of a show that the audience appreciates but become so much more to the cast and crew. For instance, when I was in Young Frankenstein at Sunset, Igor would choose a different silly duo to name the horses every show. It always made the audience laugh and it was so fun for us to wait and see what he would come up with every night! Bert and Ernie was my favorite combo.

When you’re not at Sunset, what do you like to do?

I like to keep busy! My fiancé and I regularly go swing dancing and rock climbing, and we love to travel all over the world. In the summer, we play soccer, go camping, and attend as many of the Milwaukee festivals as we can! I’m also a voracious reader and love to do arts and crafts.

What’s your favorite part about theater?

I love the way theater brings people together! Every show casts a new group – I often know a few people but there are always new friends to be made. It’s amazing how close you can grow over a couple months of rehearsal. And then, getting to share the magic of the show with audiences once the production opens expands the circle even wider to friends and family. It’s such a warm and inviting community that has given me some amazing friends over the years!
