How did you first start volunteering at Sunset?
19 years ago was my first show with Sunset. Mark Salentine directed Footloose the summer of 2007. I had just graduated high school. I was cast as one of Ariel’s best friends, Wendy Jo. My mom also auditioned with me and was cast as the rollerskating waitress, Betty. It was a summer to remember! I am thrilled to be returning after all these years.
Do you have a funny Sunset Story?
I wish I could remember anything from 19 years ago as I am sure there were some great stories. And as for this cast, we share so many laughs and are thoroughly enjoying ourselves up on that stage that choosing one particular moment is truly impossible.
When you’re not at Sunset, what do you like to do?
I am a stay at home mom for the cutest 16 month old baby girl. We enjoy our walks and going to the zoo. I like to do whatever makes her smile. Of course that also includes singing random songs to her during breakfast so she gets breakfast and a show. I also enjoy thrift shopping and board game nights with friends.
What’s your favorite part about theater?
There are so many wonderful parts to theater but the best being the camaraderie you get from doing shows with people from so many different backgrounds. Some of my most lasting friendships have come from theater. This cast in particular are very helpful and supportive of one another. Not a sour grape in sight.
