Susan Orr Koehn – BAREFOOT IN THE PARK

Sunset could not be more thrilled to point the spotlight on a new volunteer! Susan’s story at Sunset is new one. She came to usher with her good friend Lil and since then she has helped paint multiple sets this season. She jumps in wherever we need the help and brings a wonderful energy to the Playhouse. She expressed interest in learning more about props and what it takes to prop an entire show. She’s done a wonderful job working with Erica Ziino. Thank you, Susan, for all you do! Break a leg!

How did you first start volunteering at Sunset?

My friend, Lil, is an usher for Sunset.  She suggested I should try ushering too.  I loved it.  Then a call came out to help tear down a set.  I thought that might be fun and maybe I could learn to use a big drill!  Well, I ended up being a primer painter for one of the kid’s shows!!   Erica and the volunteers were so sweet, patient, and welcoming, I had to continue!

When you’re not at Sunset, what do you like to do?

I love live Theater, Blues, and Jazz.   I try to paint and I hoard stuff hoping to use it for props!!

What’s your favorite part about theater?

I am constantly in awe of Matt’s genius in magically making moving, multiuse sets!!  These people are geniuses!

THANK YOU ON BEHALF OF SUNSET PLAYHOUSE AND OUR PATRONS!
