Virgil Kornuth – Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

How did you first start volunteering at Sunset?

I found out about the auditions for Joseph in April before my first year of college was completed. I had never worked with Sunset before this!

Do you have a funny Sunset story?

At the top of the show for Joseph, we have the overture. When this is played in our production, most of the actors onstage will dance around (silently, of course) to the pit to get the last-minute burst of energy/excitement out. Is it good dancing? …depends on who you look at.

When you’re not at Sunset, what do you like to do?

Funnily enough, I live a half an hour away from Sunset on any given day. When I am not at the playhouse, I am working. Either at my actual job or at college!! Thankfully, my major is theatre-based, so I enjoy most of my schoolwork.

What’s your favorite part about theater?

I would have to say the people. Theatre people/ creatives are some of the most darling people you will ever meet in your life. The feeling of seeing someone you know passionately deliver a resounding performance is something I will never get over experiencing. It is truly a lovely thing to see someone flourish and give a stunning performance. Especially when they are one of your closest friends.
