The cat got out of the bag! Our 13th annual Sunset Playhouse Volunteer Appreciation Night on Saturday August 15th, 2015 was a stylish, sassy, speakeasy-themed PARTY! This is the one evening when we close the doors to the theater and offer our gratitude to the hundreds of volunteers who grace the Sunset Playhouse halls. Volunteers who participated in our smashing 2014-15 season arrived in flapper dresses and zoot suits to eat, drink, and dance the night away!
In a presentation hosted by Ken Smith, we shined a spotlight on quite a few of our dedicated back stage, on stage, and front of house folks. The results of an audience and volunteer poll also offered a big pat on the back to eight top performers, along with your ‘favorite show of the season.’ But this truly was a night to celebrate ALL volunteers who continue to make the Sunset such a success year after year. With lots of help from a busy committee and extraordinary cooks (thank you, Tim and Mary Gensler) our celebrants were treated to an entire evening of complimentary food and drinks!
We are also immensely grateful to the many donors and sponsors who helped make this annual event such a memorable night. Pay them a visit–they are grand!
